Terms and Conditions
These terms govern your use of Oak Tuition UK Ltd's online tutoring subscription. Please read them before subscribing.
Last updated: 6 October 2026
1. Who we are
Oak Tuition UK Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17431270, with its registered office at 82A James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Suffolk IP28 7DE, United Kingdom. You can reach us at admin@oak-tuition.co.uk.
In these terms, “we” and “us” means Oak Tuition UK Ltd, and “you” means the person who subscribes.
2. Who can subscribe
You must be at least 18 and the parent or legal guardian of the child you are registering, or have their guardian’s permission. By subscribing you confirm you have the authority to agree to these terms on that child’s behalf.
Children do not enter into a contract with us. The contract is between you and us.
3. What we provide
Access to our website, where a tutor sets and marks weekly work for your child in Maths, English and Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics), from Key Stage 1 to GCSE. Each lesson includes teaching slides, a worksheet and a quiz. You also get a parent account showing your child’s progress, scores and completed work.
The service is delivered entirely online. We do not provide in-person tuition, and we are not a school. Our service supplements your child’s education; it does not replace it, and we do not guarantee any particular academic result or grade.
We may change, add or remove lessons and features to improve the service — for example, by adding video lessons. If a change is significant and disadvantages you, we will tell you and you may cancel.
4. Accounts and sign-in
You sign in with your email address and a password you choose. Your child signs in with a short login code and a 4-digit PIN, so they do not need an email address of their own.
Keep these details private. A PIN is a simple code intended to keep a child’s work separate from a sibling’s — it is not a high-security credential, so please do not reuse it anywhere that matters. You are responsible for activity on your account and your child’s. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has gained access.
5. Price and payment
The subscription costs £39.99 per month, including VAT where applicable.
Payments are taken on the 30th of each month. In any month without a 30th, payment is taken on the last day of that month.
Your first payment is charged when you subscribe. It is pro-rata: it covers only the period from the moment you subscribe until the next 30th, so you are never charged a full month for part of one. The exact amount is shown before you confirm.
Every payment after that is £39.99, taken on the 30th in advance for the month that follows — from that 30th until the next billing date. This continues until you cancel.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. If a payment fails we may retry it, and we may suspend access until payment succeeds.
We may change the price, but we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email first. If you do not accept the new price, you may cancel before it takes effect.
6. Your right to cancel within 14 days
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days from subscribing to cancel for a full refund.
Because this is a digital service that starts immediately, you are asked to agree that we begin straight away. If you then cancel within the 14 days, we will refund you in proportion to the part of the month you have not used. If your child has not accessed any lesson content, we will refund you in full.
To cancel, email admin@oak-tuition.co.uk. You do not need to give a reason.
7. Cancelling afterwards
You can cancel at any time. Email us and we will stop the subscription from renewing. Your child keeps access until the end of the month you have already paid for.
We do not give partial refunds for a month already started, except where you cancel under section 6, where the service has failed, or where the law entitles you to one.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- share your account or your child’s login with anyone outside your household;
- copy, resell or redistribute our lessons, worksheets or quizzes;
- attempt to gain access to another user’s account or data;
- upload anything unlawful, or interfere with the service’s operation.
9. Content and intellectual property
Materials we create remain ours. You may download, print and use them for your own child’s learning, but not for any other purpose.
Some curriculum content is published by Oak National Academy and used by us under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Oak National Academy does not endorse us and is not connected to us. Where such material appears, it is credited on the lesson.
10. Suspending or ending an account
We may suspend or close an account if payment is not made, if these terms are broken, or where we must do so to protect a child or another user. Except in urgent cases we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.
If we close your account without good reason, we will refund the unused part of what you have paid.
11. Our responsibility to you
If we fail to meet these terms, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable.
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Except where the law says otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the problem arose.
We aim to keep the service available, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance or a fault outside our control.
12. Your personal data
How we handle your and your child’s personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will email you at least 30 days beforehand, and you may cancel if you do not accept it.
14. Complaints and the law that applies
If something goes wrong, please email admin@oak-tuition.co.uk and we will try to put it right.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
